These glass tiles were designed and developed to be used in commercial and residential tile applications. As with any tile used in this type of application, which will be specified by an architect or designer, the tiles must meet certain testing criteria set forth by ASTM and ANSI testing standards. OSHA also lists certain parameter that these tiles must meet for safety. These glass tiles were engineered to meet and exceed these tests. They are 1/4" (.25) thick not only for strength,  but so that they can also be used with most common ceramic tiles.

The Textured face of the tiles serves two purposes.
1. It adds slip resistance required for the "coefficient of friction" test.
2. A textured glass tile does not show fingerprints and smudges as easily as a smooth glass tile. This is especially important for commercial applications such as public restroom and restaurants.
